Dear Third Grade Class,

I would like to commend Class 3-1, 3-2, 3-3 and their teachers, Mr. Ciliotta, Ms. Resek and Mr. Boughner, for the wonderful presentation you staged at today’s school-wide morning meeting.

You took us through a walk into the history of the Civil Rights Movement from the 1955 Rosa Parks bus incident in Montgomery, Alabama to the inauguration of our 44th President of the United States.

The reenactment of the events leading to our Civil Rights Law and the continued fight for fairness, justice, and equality were excellently and eloquently performed and narrated by our amazing student actors.

Not only did you teach a great history lesson on the events occurring over the past 60 plus years in the life of our country, but you also put on display your acting and singing talents. It is abundantly evident from the content and quality of the performances that much work, research, and preparation went into putting this program together.

Thank you third grade for a job well done!

Sincerely,

Ms. Cheryl L. Forbes and Mr. Juan Trinidad

Grades 2, 3, 4 and 5

Dear Parents/Guardians:

On Tuesday, May 10, 2011, we will begin our After School Spring Sports and Arts Program. This program will be held every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.  Children will be assigned to an enrichment activity including soccer, tennis, art, crafts, music, technology, yoga, and dance.

BUS SERVICE WILL NOT BE PROVIDED FOR YOUR CHILD.  Parents must arrange to pick-up their children promptly at 5:30 p.m.

Since space is limited, students will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis. The first 100 students to return the completed signed application by Friday, May 6, 2011, will be given priority. Additionally, behavior, both in school and in previous after school programs, will one of the deciding factors for admission.

Upon acceptance, any child who is absent more than once without a doctor’s note, or disrupts the program in any way, will be discharged from the program immediately to make room for a child on the waiting list.

P.T.A. Notification

Hello GCA Parents/Supporters,

As you know, The PTA’s candy sale ended on Friday, April 1st.  We distributed over 200 boxes of candy…that’s pretty impressive!!!  The PTA greatly appreciates your support J.  We’ve tallied the numbers and realize that some of you have not yet returned your money.  Reminder that a portion of the proceeds from this fundraiser will be used to offset graduation expenses for the Kindergarten and 5th Grade classes.  Also, your child is eligible to receive prizes based on the number of boxes of candy that he/she has sold.  Lastly, let’s not forget, the PTA is awarding the class with the highest sales paid in full a pizza party. So, please sell any candy you may have remaining as you are responsible for the full value of $50.00 per 50 count box.

* Please remit your money to your child’s teacher by Friday, April 8th. *

Should you have any questions, please contact Mr. Coleman at 917-304-9522 or Ms. Ward at 646-685-6196.

Thanks again for your support!

Dear GCA Parents/Supporters,

Only 3 days left to the finish line!!!  Our candy bar fundraiser wraps up this Friday, April 1st.
Did you know you could help your child’s class win a pizza party?  A pizza party will be awarded to class with the highest sales paid in full.  So please, please get your final candy bar sales in now, and be sure to remit your monies to your child’s teacher by Friday.

Don’t forget about our magazine fundraiser.  Remember, it’s open all year long, and there’s no direct selling!!! From the comfort of your home, have your child write his/her name and a thank-you note on the postcards (postcard booklet inside your child’s blue fundraiser campaign packet).  You complete the postcards with the names and address of potential supporters and return it to your child’s teacher…that’s it folks…really simple!  If you have any questions about the magazine fundraiser, please contact Ms. Ward at 646-685-6196.

All the best,
